May the sound of their hooves, like thunder, continue to roar, and roam free!

I agree, Leon! I would love to see bison be able to roam, at the very least, in the entire area allowed by the state of Montana. But even that is not being allowed.

"I’m simply in awe of this incredible survivor that is the result of two million years of evolution and migration. Certainly, bison deserve the title of our national mammal. But even more, our national mammal deserves the right to roam free—not just in Yellowstone—but outside the park in our nation."

Hard to find the right words to describe such incredibly majestic historical animals.

Hoping that folks know that Interior Secretary Deb Haaland is not a friend to the bison and set a terrible precedent. She has been a huge disappointment to animal advocates, animal activists, and animal lovers.

Thanks, Deedee for your thoughtful comment and for sharing the links. I find it hard to believe that bison will be hunted in a national park. But I also know that at least one Montana official has called for hunting bison in Yellowstone. Fortunately, Yellowstone has always pushed back against that idea.

Sadly, this Nov. 12 news reveals that four bison were killed. Such a travesty. So unacceptable.
