Hi Rick,

I'm sorry to hear about your recent health challenge. But, I'm glad they got it early. I've got a close family member who wasn't so fortunate and is in stage 4. Early screening is easy and vital - kudos to you!

I hope that you find healing in the beauty that nature holds. Healing thoughts sent your way.

Thank You, Rick and Mary....

For all the wonderful, educational, but most of all...beautiful postings you have shared with all of us, in honor of nature and all the miracles it holds...

May that miracle, and beauty, surround you both during this time.

May you receive the blessing of a full recovery...and a new hike around the next mountain!

Sending good thoughts and healing energy your way!

Hi Ramona. Thanks for your lovely and supportive message. I apologize for taking so long to reply--cancer treatment is time consuming. But I'm not complaining, I'm happy with my care and cancer team. Thanks for your good thoughts and healing energy. Rick

Rick - I wish you all the best in your treatment for prostate cancer and a full recovery. I enjoyed your most recent slide show. The wildflowers were truly spectacular this summer. I hope you and Mary might consider coming to camp at Colter Campground next summer (two miles outside of Cooke City), the campground my husband, Mike, and I host. Would love to meet you both. We sure missed being able to access the Northern Range this summer. Be strong, be well and take care. ~Barb Kelly

Hi Barb and thanks for your support and invitation. Mary and I really enjoy that area but haven't spent much time in Colter Campground. Perhaps we can take you up on the invite. I'm glad you enjoyed the slideshow. My production of shows and writing is way down due to the time I need to battle cancer. I'm not complaining; I'm glad with how the journey is going so far. Rick

Thank you for this lovely slide show, Rick! I finally watched it this morning after a challenging week, and could feel the tension move out of my chest like breeze on a late summer morning. Your openness about cancer is inspirational, and reading through all of these beautiful comments from your fans restores my faith in human kindness. Surely their positive energy will help lift you and Mary through this challenge!

Oh, Tom, thank you so much for your comment--and friendship. I really struggled over whether to post about cancer. Went back and forth with it for weeks. And you're right, those beautiful comments really restored my faith in human kindness and gave me strength. I'm so glad to have such wonderful support from you and others. And I'm real glad that the show helped chase some tension away.

First of all may you have strength and courage as you travel down this challenging journey with cancer. Sending you peace and comfort with prayers as you go down this road and may you heal and continue to find strength in nature.

Thank you for this beautiful slide show of wild rocky mountain wild flowers. Yes summer goes up the mountains and winter comes down. Ever changing but always providing beauty and strength to those who walk its paths. Take care.

Celebrate what is truly most important in your life right now, your true love and your love of nature. Be present each moment with your loves. Their strength will pull you through this chasm to a more intense realization of what matters. I love your posts but nothing is as important as your true loves. Take care and many prayers and positive vibes being sent your way. Heal quickly physically and emotionally!

Cancer is quite a journey. You have a good support system. That and a good attitude are key to dealing with the ups and downs. As my husband said during his first cancer (he's had 4, one of them being )," It may kill me, but it won't beat me!" He's been a survivor for 9 years now and going strong. You will lern so much about ourself and so will Mary. Wishing you a successful treatment.

Hi Rick and Mary,

As usual your writing and gorgeous video are outstanding. It seems that even cancer won’t stop you in your quest to live life to the fullest in the beautiful Serengeti of the US, Yellowstone National Park. As the park weathers the storms in life, so do we. Being in nature is very therapeutic for the mind, body, and soul. I will pray for your full recovery as you take a respite. Your videos are therapeutic for me as I am no longer able to get out in nature, at least nothing as spectacular as Yellowstone. The healing powers of nature will aid you back into health. You have your sidekick Mary to help you along the way. My best wishes for you……Love, Jeanne.

Hello, Rick,

My thoughts and prayers have been with the Gardiner residents and business owners. I hope they will survive and recover.

I’m sorry to hear about your prostate cancer but grateful the cancer has not spread. I hope all goes well and you have a total recovery. It’s wonderful that Mary will be by your side through your journey. You are also surrounded by nature and its beauty which I’m sure will help in your recovery. I will miss your writings, but as you said, making this journey will require time and energy. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Mary. Please don’t worry about replying.
