Recently while cross country skiing, I found myself recalling images from other days on skis in and around Yellowstone. I thought it would be fun to share such images with you by way of this slideshow (with music) that captures Yellowstone's wildlife, wild lands, and some wild moments from skis. Enjoy the show!
When I’m not outside enjoying the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem or inside writing and producing Love the Wild, I spend a lot of time advocating for wolves. I'm honored, excited, and glad to be a part of this webinar designed to unite us in our endeavor to protect wolves. If wolves interest you, I hope you can attend and find steps you can take to help wolves.

You’ll find a Love the Wild letter in your inbox each week. In addition to slideshows such as this one, you’ll enjoy a variety of stories, photo essays, podcasts, commentaries, excerpts from my books and more. With each, I hope to warm your heart and excite your mind as we share moments with wildlife and in wild lands.
I love reading your thoughts and reactions.
I write and photograph to protect wildlife and preserve wild lands.
My bestselling In the Temple of Wolves; its sequel, Deep into Yellowstone; and its prequel, The Wilds of Aging are available signed. My books are also available on Amazon unsigned or as eBook or audiobook.
Loved watching Yellowstone on Skis ! Beautiful beautiful photos! I am curious to know if you and Mary have ever run into an aggressive animal while hiking or skiing? Do you carry bear spray ? And hiking in the woods at night! You guys are brave 😄
Really Love your site, Rick. How generous of you to share all the wonders of your daily view. I live over and around West Glacier/Flathead Lake...so if you are ever this way...tea or coffee is always on.
This is so meditative, and yet so full of our natural mysteries that only the Wild and Wildlife can give us...Thanks a million...it is priceless.
P.S. Unite for Wolves was wonderful....let's see this madness turned around.
For all that is Wild....
